If you're searching for Ber recipes or wondering why Echo of Tristram left you with a Standard of Heroes instead of a Hellfire Torch, you're facing two different progression problems. The Season 15 setup described here connects crafting, seasonal powers, and encounter access closely enough that sorting through Diablo 4 Items becomes a resource-management decision. The important distinction is what improves your build now and what merely buys another attempt.

1 Separate Equipment Progression From Encounter Access

Ber belongs to your equipment plan. Wirt's Lucky Coin belongs to your encounter budget. Treating them as interchangeable goals leads to farming materials that won't solve your immediate problem.

The stated Cube recipe converts two Lo runes and one Grand Topaz into Ber. Moving further requires two Ber runes and one Grand Sapphire for Jah, so don't make that conversion simply because it's available. Your intended equipment recipe should determine whether Ber stays in storage.

Standard of HeroesEncounter-associated reward with unresolved utilityKeep it without assuming an additional benefit.
This separation matters most when your resources are limited. A nearly completed equipment project usually deserves a different farming plan from a character already prepared to repeat the seasonal encounter.

2 Craft Toward a Build, Not a Rune Collection

Enigma requires Jah, Ith, and Ber with a suitable Normal white chest armor base. Infinity requires Ber, Mal, Ber, and Ist with a compatible weapon base. Infinity therefore commits two Ber runes before you account for its other ingredients.

The useful question isn't which recipe sounds more prestigious. It's whether you have the correct base, the remaining ingredients, and a build that benefits enough to justify the commitment. Without those pieces, converting runes can turn flexible materials into an unfinished project.

For progression-focused players, finish one coherent upgrade before starting another. For established characters, compare the completed item against your current setup rather than assuming rarity guarantees a meaningful improvement.

3 Judge the Torch by What It Changes

The described Hellfire Torch combines percentage increases to all stats and elemental resistances with additional skill ranks. Its extra Unique Charm allowance and contribution toward a randomly selected class set make the evaluation more complicated than checking one impressive affix.

A strong All Skills roll is attractive, but the set contribution may change which Torch actually fits your character. If one roll completes a useful set effect while another merely raises existing numbers, the less spectacular-looking item could offer the better practical result.

◆ Prioritize a relevant set contribution when it activates an effect your build needs.

◆ Compare resistance gains against your actual defensive shortfalls.

◆ Consider the additional Unique Charm slot as part of the complete loadout.

Boss-focused builds should value reliable performance throughout the encounter. Faster clearing matters less if your setup repeatedly collapses when all three enemies are active.

4 Finish Access Requirements Before Spending Splinters

Old Tristram access requires all ten Deckard's Journals, followed by a return to Deckard Cain at the Imperial Library in Caldeum. Deckard's Memory supplies town access, but it doesn't cover the consumable cost of repeated encounters.

Complete the seasonal questline before spending Prime Evil Splinters, and secure Horadric Cube access through Lord of Hatred. The reported progression issue makes this more than housekeeping: consuming a seasonal item too early can interfere with progression.

1) Complete the questline and unlock Old Tristram.

2) Collect one Splinter each of Terror, Destruction, and Hatred.

3) Combine them into Wirt's Lucky Coin without activating them individually.

4) Use Wish at the fountain when your character or party is ready.

Pinnacle Waking Nightmares become available at Torment 10 or higher, but their associated enemies shouldn't be treated as guarantees of specific Splinter types. Keep your farming expectations flexible.

5 Make Each Coin Attempt Deliberate

Echo of Tristram places Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto together. Prepare for overlapping pressure rather than three isolated fights, and don't sacrifice essential defenses merely to improve a damage estimate.

For party rotations, establish who contributes each coin before anyone touches the fountain. Let one player select Wish, then coordinate dungeon resets between attempts. Reports of four-player rotations are useful planning information, not proof that every participant will receive a Torch every time.

A Standard-only result also doesn't establish a reward timer. Waiting an arbitrary interval is not a confirmed way to improve the next outcome.

Which Option Should Players Choose

Choose Ber farming when it completes a defined equipment upgrade. Choose Torch attempts when your build can handle the encounter and you can afford uncertain rewards. Whether you're budgeting crafting materials or Diablo IV Gold, spend toward a specific improvement rather than another roll with no clear purpose.
